Exploring steady structures in DT

Snails in science

Numeracy and Literacy are very large parts of our curriculum which are covered every day.  This term in Numeracy we will be looking at

  • place value in units, tens and hundreds

  • multiplication and division, focussing on 3, 5, 6 & 10.

  • fractions to ths

In Literacy grammar, comprehension, spelling and reading form a very important skills basis for general development.  The children have regular weekly lessons in these areas of the subject.

Creative Writing
We are developing our writing skills by learning how to use the punctuation of speech; how to plan, draft and present our work; how to write for a particular purpose, including instructions, reports and stories.  We are broadening our vocabulary and using it inventive ways, for example in sound poems and acrostic poems.

We welcome Year 3 to join as many clubs as possible which are open to the juniors.  These clubs include Choir, Fitness, Art and Football.  Some children also have violin, recorder and flute lessons.
