Music
All classes from Reception to Year 6 are taught by a music
specialist, using a range of songs, instruments and recorded music.
We aim to develop the children's ability to listen to and
appreciate a wide variety of music.
Most music lessons involve practical music making either
singing or playing on a variety of school based musical instruments.
Children who are learning individual instruments are encouraged to play them as
part of the lessons.
In addition to performing the children are given the basics of
creating their own music and recording this work by writing it down and playing
from their own musical compositions.
We emphasize music making and composition in small groups so
that children learn skills of co-operation and self-discipline, creativity and
sensitivity to others when they make
