In this unit
pupils have to select appropriate sounds for different functions and
atmospheres. They have to create different sounds using a 'melody
maker' and also using their voices!

We have been
using graphics with text to design a magazine cover. All pupils have
been inserting pictures into their writing and using ICT to generate and
develop ideas.

In this unit pupils will enter data into a prepared database
and save and retrieve their work. They will carry out simple searches with
support, create simple charts form the data and sort and search to interrogate
the database. Specific questions will be asked to allow the pupils to
identify the required data as well as asking questions of two fields in a
prepared database, using the AND, OR command.
In this unit pupils identify ways in which a computer
representation is both realistic and unrealistic. Pupils will use the
computer to explore real and imaginary situations. They will be
looking at simulations and testing predictions.
This is an essential unit in readiness for when the pupils are
given their own email addresses. Pupils will learn how to open, read and
reply to an email as well as being able to attach and send a file with an email.
They will also be taught the security issues concerned with emails including
viruses.
