Bonjour! Je m’appelle Minou.
Minou helps the
children learn French from Nursery and Reception through to Year 6.
Throughout the school the emphasis is on spoken French.
In
Nursery, Reception and Year 1 we sing action songs and take part in finger
rhymes, games and stories in French.
Through the La Jolie
Ronde course the children are introduced to listening to and speaking French,
moving on to reading and writing activities once their oral skills are
confident. They also learn about the
culture and geography of
France
.
Every two years the
children in year 4 and 5 have the opportunity to go on a school trip to
France
. This is an excellent way to put
into practice what has been learned in the classroom.
Highlights of the trip include meeting and
playing with French children of their own age in a local primary school,
visiting a French market and bakery plus a day in
Paris.
